If you’ve ever wanted to taste whiskey straight from the cask and then pretend you’re not going to talk about it for the next three weeks, Balcones has the event for you.
From the Cask returns to Balcones Distilling in Waco on June 12th from 4:30–6:30 PM. This guided tasting takes guests into the 4th floor R&D warehouse for a deeper look at Balcones’ barrel maturation program.
Guests will taste cask strength samples pulled directly from four hand-selected barrels of Balcones Texas whisky. After the tasting, participants cast a ranked choice ballot for their favorite cask. The winning cask is bottled quarterly as a Rickhouse Select Single Barrel, and participants receive early purchase access plus special pricing on up to four bottles during early access.
Yes, there are stairs involved. Four flights of them, in fact. So wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and maybe prepare emotionally.
