Smoke & Whiskey Fest Brings BBQ, Texas Whiskey and Cigars to Flower Mound

Whiskey and barbecue have been getting along just fine without our help for a very long time.

The 7th Annual Smoke & Whiskey Fest simply makes the relationship official.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Summit Club of Flower Mound brings its annual fundraiser back to Flower Mound for a day built around competitive barbecue, whiskey, cigars, live music, local vendors, and raising money for North Texas nonprofits.

The main festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the Whiskey Corral opening later in the day for ticketed whiskey tastings.

And because apparently one day of meat and whiskey wasn't sufficient, festivities actually begin Friday night with Flurry's Friday Night Steakout.

First, There Will Be Barbecue

Saturday's Smoke Fest centers around a Texas State BBQ Championship, bringing competition barbecue teams together in Flower Mound.

Guests purchasing BBQ Competition admission can explore the competition area and enjoy the larger festival atmosphere, including live music, vendors, and other activities throughout the day.

Adult BBQ Competition admission is $25, youth ages 12–17 are $10, and children under 12 are admitted free.

One important distinction: BBQ Competition admission does not include entry to the Whiskey Corral.

If whiskey tasting is your reason for making the trip—and considering the name of this website, I'm going to make a wild assumption that it might be—you'll want either the Combo or VIP ticket.

Welcome to the Whiskey Corral

The Whiskey Corral is the 21-and-over side of the festival, featuring more than a dozen whiskeys from Texas and beyond.

Rather than simply setting bottles on tables and calling it an afternoon, the Corral gives whiskey drinkers a chance to explore different producers and styles while talking with the people representing them.

The $75 Combo ticket includes entry to the Whiskey Corral from 1:30–4:30 p.m., a commemorative shot glass, and access to the BBQ Competition area.

The $100 VIP ticket gets you into the Whiskey Corral an hour earlier, from 12:30–4:30 p.m., along with the commemorative glass and BBQ Competition access.

That extra hour may be particularly useful if you're interested in talking with distilleries before the crowd builds—or if standing around barbecue while waiting until 1:30 to drink whiskey sounds unnecessarily cruel.

Whiskey, Cigars and a Little Texas Excess

There's also an exclusive cigar bar as part of the festivities.

Whiskey, barbecue, and cigars aren't exactly known for subtlety as a combination, but that's rather the point.

All three reward slowing down. Whiskey changes as it sits in the glass. Barbecue requires hours of patience before anyone gets near it with a fork. A good cigar isn't something you're supposed to finish in ten minutes.

Put them together and you've got a remarkably effective argument for not scheduling anything productive afterward.

Live music, craft vendors, and an auction round out Saturday's festival.

Make a Weekend of It

Smoke & Whiskey Fest actually begins the night before with Flurry's Friday Night Steakout on Friday, October 30.

Individual Steakout tickets are $100 and include dinner, dessert, and iced tea. Tables of eight are available for $750.

For anyone planning to attend both nights, the $175 Weekend Pass includes admission for one person to Friday Night Steakout plus VIP admission to Saturday's Smoke & Whiskey Fest.

That makes the weekend pass particularly interesting for visitors coming from outside the Flower Mound area who want the full event rather than simply dropping in Saturday afternoon.

Whiskey for a Cause

The Summit Club of Flower Mound isn't simply throwing a party.

Smoke & Whiskey Fest is an annual fundraiser supporting the organization's work with local nonprofits and charitable causes.

According to the Summit Club, nearly $20,000 was distributed to local nonprofits last year, and the organization is working toward distributing $25,000 in 2027.

That gives all the barbecue, whiskey, auctions, and festivities a purpose beyond determining exactly how much smoked meat a person can reasonably consume in one afternoon.

It's another example of something the whiskey community tends to do remarkably well: turn gathering around food and bottles into an excuse to help somebody else.
