Still Austin’s Annual Tanager Cigar Blend Bourbon Returns December 6th, 2025
Still Austin is bringing back one of their most sought-after bottles — Tanager, the cigar-blend bourbon that made waves during its debut release last year. If you missed it the first time around… here’s your redemption arc.
This limited release drops Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the Still Austin distillery in Austin, TX. Doors open at noon, and it’s first-come, first-served until the bottles are gone. And yes — it’s limit one per person, so bring your most convincing “I’m definitely not here with my cousin who looks suspiciously like me” energy.
What Makes Tanager Special?
This year’s batch continues the same small-batch magic that made the inaugural release such a hit. Tanager is a blend of red corn, blue corn, and white corn bourbon, giving it a layered depth you don’t always find in Texas whiskey. Then comes the cool part: it’s proofed down using petite eaux, a delicate method that softens the whiskey without dulling its structure. The result? A bottle that pairs beautifully with a cigar — or just a slow evening where you want something rich, comforting, and interesting.
Planning a Visit?
If you’re looking to build a full whiskey outing, you can check out other Still Austin events on the site, browse everything happening across the Central Texas region, or hit the full Texas Whiskey Event Calendar before you head out.
And hey — while you’re here, swing by the Texas Whiskey Geek merch page. It keeps the site running and supports my questionable life choices, like spending my weekends filming whiskey barrels instead of doing normal adult things.
Note: Event details can change! Always confirm the latest information with Still Austin before heading out.
