The Story

Earlier this year, Andalusia Whiskey Co. opened a limited number of spots for their whiskey club. Members get quarterly perks that include one or two bottles depending on membership level, and these are bottles you typically won’t find sitting on store shelves.

This particular spring 2026 release is a 6-year American Single Malt, and honestly, the value here is kind of ridiculous. I had the two-bottle option, which put this bottle right around $50. For a limited single malt with this age and proof, that’s flirting with theft.

Nose

The nose comes in sweet and creamy right away. First impression was marzipan candies, followed by sweet oak and vanilla. If I really dig around, there’s a little orange marmalade hiding in there too.

There’s also something vegetal in the mix that I can’t quite identify. Not in a bad way, just enough to add some intrigue.

Complexity lands right in the sweet spot for me: enough going on to keep things interesting, but not so layered that I need to sit in silence for 45 minutes pretending I’m solving a crime.

Palate

Sweet up front with just a light touch of smoke. The creamy texture from the nose carries into the palate, though not quite as strongly as expected.

Flavor-wise, it tracks nicely with the nose: marzipan, vanilla, oak, and a sweet marmalade note that pops more toward the back end. The finish hangs around and slowly shifts into a slightly dry, peppery spice.

At 132.4 proof, it drinks with confidence, but it doesn’t come across as reckless. There’s heat, sure, but it feels well integrated.

Conclusion

I’m a single malt fan, and this checks a lot of boxes for me. I like a little tension between smoke and sweetness, and while the smoke here stays in the background, the sweet notes absolutely carry the show.

If this were easier to find, I could easily see it becoming one of those bottles that permanently lives on the shelf. A dependable go-to pour.

But since it’s limited, I’ll have to do the mature thing and pace myself.

We’ll see how long that lasts.
