Cadillac Gypsies Bring Traditional Country to Garrison Brothers
Good bourbon and traditional country music have spent enough time together that separating them at this point would probably just confuse everybody.
On Friday, September 5, 2026, the Cadillac Gypsies take the stage at Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye as part of the distillery's Hye Note Concert series.
The music runs from 1 to 4 p.m., and the concert is free and open to the public.
Keeping Traditional Country Alive
The Cadillac Gypsies build their sound around traditional country music, mixing timeless classics with modern country and original songs rooted in the genre's history.
At the center of the group are Jenny Kelso and Eric Schuessler, who have performed together since 2009 and under the Cadillac Gypsies name since 2011.
Kelso's soulful vocals pair with Schuessler's songwriting and guitar work for a style focused on honest storytelling and classic country sound.
The Cadillac Gypsies have performed at festivals and venues around Texas and have shared the stage with artists including Charlie Robison, Stoney LaRue, Rick Trevino, and Gary P. Nunn.
An Afternoon at Garrison Brothers
The Hye Note Concert series gives visitors another reason to spend an afternoon at Garrison Brothers beyond simply touring the distillery.
Located in the Texas Hill Country, Garrison Brothers Distillery has been producing Texas bourbon in Hye since 2006 and has become one of the most recognizable names in Texas whiskey.
Visitors can make a day of it with bourbon, cocktails, the Hill Country surroundings, and a few hours of live music.
It's considerably easier than trying to recreate the experience at home by standing next to your whiskey cabinet with a guitar.
