The 6th Annual John Hybner BBQ Cook Off returns on Saturday, March 28, 2026, hosted at the legendary Spoetzl Brewery & Distillery, home of Shiner beers and spirits. Set in the heart of Shiner, this event brings together serious pitmasters, serious payouts, and some of the best BBQ energy you’ll find anywhere in the state.
This is an IBCA State Championship BBQ Competition with 100% payout, which means the stakes are high and the cookers are coming in hot. Expect fierce competition, incredible aromas, and plenty of Texas-sized pride filling the grounds at the historic brewery.
For cooks, this is your shot at claiming the title and proving your skills on a respected stage. For spectators, it’s a chance to soak up great food, iconic surroundings, and the unmistakable vibe that only Shiner can deliver.
