Go Deeper at the Balcones Escarpment Tour in Waco
Balcones Distilling is offering another Escarpment Tour at their Waco distillery on Thursday, May 28, 2026, and this one goes well beyond the standard “here’s a still, here’s a glass, please exit through the gift shop” kind of tour.
This deeper experience takes guests into parts of the distillery that help tell the bigger Balcones story, including the Still Platform, Blending Room, and R&D warehouse. The tour is led by members of the Balcones team and is built for folks who want to better understand how Balcones approaches production, maturation, blending, and the weird little decisions that eventually become very delicious liquid.
Guests will get a closer look at the custom copper pot stills, step into the Blending Room, taste fresh new make, visit the R&D warehouse, and finish with a guided tasting through Balcones core single malts and limited release whiskies.
That is a pretty strong lineup for anyone who enjoys getting nerdy about Texas whisky. And yes, Balcones spells it whisky.
A couple of important notes from the host: guests need to be able to walk up and down four flights of stairs, and closed-toed shoes and pants are required. Fashion must occasionally yield to distillery safety. Tragic, but understandable.
