Garrison Brothers 2026 Balmorhea Release Returns to Hye, Texas
Garrison Brothers is bringing Balmorhea back to the distillery, and this year’s release has a little extra time behind it.
The 2026 Balmorhea Release takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas. This annual release gives bourbon fans a chance to pick up one of Garrison Brothers’ most beloved expressions directly from the source.
Balmorhea has always been the kind of bourbon that asks you to slow down a little. It is twice-barreled in new American oak and bottled at 115 proof, with a rich, deep profile built for sipping rather than rushing.
For 2026, the barrels behind this release have reached ten years in the Texas heat. Not because Garrison Brothers was chasing a number, but because time apparently looked at those barrels and said, “I’m not done with you yet.” Rude, but effective.
This year’s Balmorhea is aged six years, then four more in a second new American oak barrel. According to the distillery, guests can expect notes of toasted marshmallow and amaretto on the nose, followed by sticky buns, glazed donuts, double fudge brownies, chocolate syrup, Heath bars, English toffee, pecan brittle, and pecan ice cream.
So, subtle? Absolutely not. Deliciously excessive? That appears to be the assignment.
The 2026 Balmorhea release is priced at $179.99. Garrison Brothers will also release Balmorhea Cask Strength Single Barrel at $209.99 per bottle, with proceeds benefiting the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
