Garrison Brothers PX & Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish Release Party
Some bottle releases are about getting a new bourbon.
This one is about getting your first taste of an entirely new chapter in the Garrison Brothers story.
On June 27, 2026, Garrison Brothers Distillery will release the first two expressions in its brand-new Ranch Reserve Series: PX Sherry Cask Finished and Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon.
And if you've ever waited in line at a Garrison release before, you already know this probably won't be a "roll in whenever" kind of morning.
The release party runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the distillery in Hye, Texas. Admission is free, but Garrison fans have a well-earned reputation for showing up early when something special is involved.
What makes these bottles interesting isn't just the finish. It's the patience.
Both expressions begin as Garrison Brothers Small Batch Bourbon and spend four years aging in new toasted and charred American oak barrels. Then, instead of heading to a bottle, they spend another four years resting in sherry casks from Spain. The result is an eight-year bourbon that explores two very different sides of the sherry world.
PX, short for Pedro Ximénez, is the sweeter and darker of the two. The finish contributes notes of chocolate, caramel, raisins, figs, and candied fruit, creating a rich and decadent profile bottled at 109 proof.
Oloroso takes a different path. This drier style of sherry emphasizes walnut, fig, baking spices, and savory depth, resulting in a more structured bourbon bottled at 110 proof.
What makes this release particularly interesting is that Garrison Brothers intentionally launched both expressions together. Rather than presenting a single finished bourbon, the distillery is inviting bourbon fans to compare two different finishing traditions side by side and see how dramatically the casks shape the final whiskey.
If you're curious how the two expressions compare in the glass, I recently spent some time with both bottles and put together a detailed review covering the flavors, finish, and overall experience. Read my full Garrison Brothers PX & Oloroso Sherry Cask Review here.

Both bottles retail for $149.99 and mark the debut of the Ranch Reserve Series, a new collection focused on exceptional finishing casks and limited releases. Approximately 6,000 bottles of each expression were produced.
Whether you're a longtime Garrison collector, a fan of finished bourbon, or simply curious how Spanish sherry casks interact with bold Texas whiskey, this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Texas whiskey releases of the summer.
