Spoetzl Brewery & Distillery is bringing back a Texas classic with Shiner GASP 2026 (Great American Shiner Pedal) on May 16th, starting bright and early at 7 AM.
Originally launched back in the late 1970s, GASP built a reputation as a ride rooted in community, not competition—and that spirit is still very much intact. This is a ride, not a race, designed for cyclists who want to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
Riders can choose between three distances—100 miles, 50 miles, or 25 miles—making it approachable whether you’re chasing a full century or just looking for a relaxed ride with friends. The routes run on open roads, so safety and awareness are part of the experience, but that’s also part of what makes it feel authentic.
And then there’s the finish line.
After the ride, things shift from endurance to celebration back at the brewery. Your entry includes three beers (21+) and a bratwurst meal, which honestly might be the most motivating finish line incentive out there. If you’re still feeling ambitious, the annual crawfish boil will also be happening for an additional fee.
Live music keeps things going into the afternoon with The Emotions (12–4 PM) followed by Slim Bawb (4–7:30 PM), turning the post-ride hang into a full-on day at the distillery.
