On Saturday, February 28, 2026, the Whiskey Crusaders are bringing back their 2nd Annual Texas Independence Day celebration at Whiskey Castle in Hurst, TX. The idea is simple: put a lineup of Texas distilleries in one room, add food pairings, and spend the evening learning just how different whiskey across the state can be.
And fittingly, Whiskey Castle is also a stop on the Texas Whiskey Trail — so this one leans hard into the “tour Texas without leaving North Texas” experience.
This is a festival-style tasting and education event, designed for every level of whiskey drinker. First pour or seasoned collector — you’ll fit right in.
Featured Texas Distilleries
The evening will showcase distilleries from across the Lone Star State:
1845 Distilling Company — Lowry Crossing
Bendt Distilling Company — Lewisville
Ironroot Republic Distilling — Denison
Maverick Distilling — San Antonio
Saint’s Alley — Denison
Additional distilleries may be added as confirmations come in.
Expect big stylistic range here — North Texas grain-forward profiles, Hill Country influence, and San Antonio character all on the same tasting table.
Texas-Inspired Dinner Pairings
Dinner will be catered by Ladies That Cater, with Stephanie creating a pairing for each featured distillery plus a spread of Texas foods. Menu details will be released soon, but the goal is clear: build dishes around the whiskey instead of treating food as an afterthought.
