Still Austin's 2026 Monster Mash Bourbon Returns October 26
Still Austin's annual Monster Mash is back, and this year's release is a little different.
For the first time, the distillery has built its Halloween-inspired bourbon around blue corn. And judging by the tasting notes, they've apparently decided to put the entire trick-or-treat bag into a whiskey barrel.
The 2026 Monster Mash goes on sale online Monday, October 26, at 1 p.m. Central. Bottles must be picked up in person at Still Austin in Austin, Texas, beginning October 31.
If you've been following these limited Distillery Reserve releases, you know the drill. These things tend to disappear quickly.
What's in the 2026 Monster Mash?
This year's release is bottled at 116.5 proof and uses a five-grain mash bill:
63% blue corn
17% Winter Hawk wheat
10% malted rye
8% rye
2% malted barley
It's an interesting combination, particularly with blue corn making up nearly two-thirds of the recipe.
Monster Mash has become one of Still Austin's annual Halloween traditions, with each release bringing its own mash bill, label artwork and seasonal character.
Official Tasting Notes
Still Austin describes the 2026 Monster Mash as having a particularly candy-inspired profile.
Nose: Saltwater taffy, gummy candies, chocolate-covered raisins and candy corn.
Palate: Butter pecan, candied bacon, olive oil cake, caramel apple and toasted meringue.
Finish: Sweet spices, kettle corn, whipped topping, dry pear cider and tobacco leaf.
Those are the distillery's tasting notes, not my own. I haven't tasted this release yet.
How to Get a Bottle
The online sale begins at 1 p.m. Central on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Price: $125, plus applicable tax
Limit: One bottle per person
Availability: Online purchase with in-person pickup only

Buyers have 90 days to collect their bottles. There is no shipping option.
If you're hoping to grab one, I'd recommend having the product page ready before the sale begins. Last year's Monster Mash reportedly sold out in approximately three minutes.
