First Friday Returns to Fire Oak Distillery with Jim Monk
Some traditions don't need much explanation.
The first Friday of the month rolls around, Fire Oak Distillery stays open a little later than usual, live Texas music fills the air, cocktails start flowing, and the Hill Country does the rest.
On Friday, August 7, Fire Oak's monthly First Friday tradition returns with live music from Jim Monk, giving visitors another excuse to make the drive to Liberty Hill for an evening of Texas spirits, good music, and one of the more relaxing settings you'll find outside Austin.
The distillery opens at 1 p.m., with live music from 5 to 8 p.m. Fire Oak will remain open until 9 p.m., giving guests plenty of time to enjoy the evening. Admission is free.
A Hill Country Evening Done Right
Every distillery has its own personality.
Some are built around tours and tastings. Others focus on cocktails or special releases.
Fire Oak leans into something a little simpler: creating a place where people actually want to spend an afternoon that turns into an evening.
Set among the rolling hills outside Liberty Hill, the property offers plenty of room to slow down with a handcrafted cocktail made from the distillery's 100% Texas spirits while live music provides the soundtrack. And yes, if you've visited before, you already know there's a decent chance you'll spot the resident zebras wandering the property.
It's one of those places that doesn't feel rushed.
Live Music from Jim Monk
Providing the music this month is Jim Monk, whose Americana and Red Dirt Country style feels right at home in the Texas Hill Country.
Rather than competing with conversations, his music creates the kind of atmosphere that encourages guests to settle in for another drink, catch up with friends, and enjoy a summer evening outdoors.
Fire Oak has also hinted there will probably be something to eat, though food details haven't been announced yet.
