Bourbon and Beef Return for the 2026 Hye Steaks Cookout
There are plenty of reasonable ways to spend a Saturday evening.
Eating your way through eight chef-led beef stations while drinking Garrison Brothers bourbon in the Texas Hill Country seems considerably better than most of them.
The 5th Annual Hye Steaks Cookout returns to Garrison Brothers Distillery on Saturday, October 3, bringing together Texas chefs, beef, bourbon, wine and live music for a fundraiser benefiting the Texas Restaurant Foundation.
The event runs from 6–9 p.m. at the distillery in Hye.
Eight Stations. Lots of Beef. Also Bourbon.
The Hye Steaks Cookout is essentially what happens when somebody looks at a steak dinner and decides it isn't ambitious enough.
Guests will work their way through eight chef-led tasting stations, each serving its own beef creation. Garrison Brothers will provide handcrafted bourbon cocktails throughout the evening, while Texas Hill Country wineries will also be pouring wine.
Tickets are $150 per person and include food and beverages from all eight stations.
And because this is still Garrison Brothers, they're sneaking some additional whiskey nerdiness into the evening.
Master Distiller Donnis Todd will host an exclusive From the Barrel tasting experience, giving guests a chance to get a little closer to what's happening inside those barrels in Hye.
A Special Single Barrel Release
There will also be some whiskey available that you won't find sitting on the shelf at your neighborhood liquor store.
Garrison Brothers will release a special Hye Steaks Cookout 2026 Cask Strength Single Barrel, available exclusively to guests attending the event.
So yes, you can apparently go to dinner and accidentally come home with a cask-strength Texas bourbon.
These things happen.
The evening will also include auction items, live music from the Jeff Jacobs Band, and the new Cigar Corral, an on-property cigar lounge featuring Bariay 1492 cigars available for purchase.
Bourbon for a Cause
The Hye Steaks Cookout isn't just an excuse to eat an unreasonable amount of beef.
Proceeds benefit the Texas Restaurant Foundation, which supports Texas hospitality through education, workforce training, scholarships, career development, second-chance employment programs and disaster relief.
So you get steak and bourbon.
The Texas hospitality industry gets some help.
Everybody seems to understand the assignment.
